˙ţHow to stop global warming: Take Steps Now, Before It Gets Too Late

from: Ancient Hippy

Global warming is a diabolical problem facing humanity that needs to be dealt with without further delay, and on a war footing. The melting of the Arctic ice has served as an advance warning about the urgent need to find ways and means that should be considered regarding how to stop global warming. This is a matter that has occupied the minds of the best brains, and for those who are actually concerned about CO2 in the atmosphere, the need to come up with a solution about how to stop global warming should be a matter of top priority.

Six Billion More Trees Should Be Planted

When we set our minds on how to stop global warming we will realize that we need to stop cutting trees indiscriminately, and there is also a need to re-plant those trees that have been uprooted. In fact, according to some estimates, it is believed that we need as many as six billion more trees to combat global warming. And, it is really flirting with calamity when we deforest huge tracts of land as well as indulge in land clearing.

There are several examples of how chopping down trees has led to the disappearance of whole forests as witnessed in the Easter Island, in Bangladesh as well as Olympia Peninsula in Washington State. Also at risk are the rain forests in Africa as well as in the Amazon. The problem is that these trees take the CO2 and convert it into oxygen and a good way of solving the problem of how to stop global warming is to plant six to eight billion trees that would solve the problem of climate change as also greenhouse problems.

We should realize that by losing two acres per minute we are putting the ecological system under sever pressure, and with the available technology that we have at our disposal, it should be channeled into planting more trees rather than constructing cement and concrete monsters. If our concerns are genuine and we seriously want to have long term solutions for global warming, is it not time that we seriously devote our concerted efforts to realizing the best means of how to stop global warming?

It is time that we evolve major solutions regarding how to stop global warming that will help contain, prevent as well as put a stop to this dilemma. Conserving energy, forming organizations to combat global warming, keeping working hours to a bare minimum, recycling, using environmentally friendly fuels as well as vehicles, turning to solar, wind as well as water power to produce electricity, and insulating homes are some of the other useful and realistic means of coping with the problem of how to stop global warming.
