ÿþGlobal Warming Data: Why Is Our Climate Becoming More Unpredictable and Violent?

from: Ancient Hippy

For the last few years, the weather has been quite very unpredictable. The cases of tsunami in the Asian region and the strong hurricanes that affected the United States in the past few years are strong evidences that our weather is indeed turning violent. According to experts, the changes in the weather can be closely linked to global warming. The global warming data gathered by experts show that our planet is experiencing some major changes in the temperature.

The global warming data showed that the increase in the temperature in the surface of the earth caused several changes in the weather that affect the natural resources such as water. According to studies, for the last several years, the rainfall in some parts of the world has been quite extreme.

There are some areas which experienced extremely heavy rainfall while there are also some parts of the world that does not have much rainfall at all. The effects of both droughts and flooding are very devastating to the people in the area. The fact that crops and other agricultural products are often very much affected by the extreme weather conditions, the food security of the people in the country is also affected.

Rising Of Sea Level

Global warming data showed that the effects of global warming is not only limited to the changes in the weather conditions. Scientists who analyzed the global warming data revealed that there had been a significant rise in the sea level for the past 100 years. According to the global warming data gathered in the last few years, the seas have risen about 1 to 2 mm/year for the last 100 years.

The gradual rise in the sea level is not really much noticeable to ordinary people at the moment but time will come where some low-lying areas in the country will soon be inundated with seawater. When this happens, before who are living near the seashores will lose their homes and properties.

What causes the rise in the sea level? According to experts, the melting of the glaciers in the North Pole and the South Pole caused the rise of the sea level. As a temperature of the earth s surface rise, the glaciers starts to melt and the water coming from these glaciers flow into the sea. If global warming continues, the glaciers could melt at a faster degree and the sea level will drastically rise.
