˙ūGlobal Warming Statistics Analyzed For Predictions

from: Ancient Hippy

There is no lack of numbers, charts and graphs that appear to support the global warming statistics being touted are the world as a preview of things to come. However, as many of the more cautious point out, weather experts and climatologists have such a difficult time predicting the weather on a daily basis, that projecting what the world s weather patterns may be in 50 or 100 years, is simply guessing.

As the experts continue to revise and update computer modeling programs in an attempt to show the expected devastating effects on the warming of the global atmosphere. The global warming statistics they are using is information gleaned from select research studies and well as history to attempt to predict how warm the world will become, as well as which parts of the Earth s surface will undergo the most severe climate change.

In most scientific communities the axiom commonly used is that the further back in history that is considered, the more accurate the future prediction. As those on the environmental side of the debate continue to probe deeper into the world s past atmospheric conditions, others use the global warming statistics to show that the Earth s weather is cyclical in nature and is currently entering another cycle, previously experienced.

Statistical Analysis Key To Projecting Future

Statistics from the past are used to project the future in many areas, such as baseball and other sports. Due to the past performance of a player, their future achievements should be predictable. While certain known weather patterns evolve into weather predictions, global warming statistics are difficult to compile, as there are too many unknowns. The people who were alleged to be around when the last episode of global warming occurred, left with the dinosaurs.

By drilling into the ice at the North and South Poles, researchers are pointing to the gas contents at various levels in the Earth s past as proof that change has happened previously and is going to happen again. Using these global warming statistics they compile computer models to project the global weather

Critics claim their use of global warming statistics is flawed in that they have samples from only one or two areas of the globe. They say there is no reconciliation that the minor changes noted in their global warming statistics applied to the entire globe at that time. Additionally, they point out that atmospheric conditions can change in seconds, causing a shift in weather patterns, unrelated to conditions other parts of the world, showing their theories to be a simple guess.
