˙ţGlobal Warming Skeptics Claim Theory Is Unproven

from: Ancient Hippy

There are numerous people pushing the theory that global warming will soon result in the end of the world as it is known today, and there are just as many global warming skeptics that accuse them of walking around with The End Is Near signs to create a panic while pushing an unproven theory to support their personal agenda. When former Vice President Al Gore took up the cause, global warming skeptics claimed it is to draw attention to his future political agenda.

Industrialized nations have formed an alliance to slow the emission of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas being blamed for global warming, however the United States, China and India have shied from signing an agreement they claim is based on unproven data and the cost to implement such changes would outweigh any unknown and unproven benefits. The global warming skeptics continue to press for more information about how these changes in emissions would benefit the world, while causing economic chaos.

Because of this debate, the movie An Inconvenient Truth, with Gore outlining the devastating results of unabated emissions of greenhouse gases has been viewed by global warming skeptics as an attempt to have Gore pictured as the man who helped save the planet. This, they say, would put him in an unparalleled position in another run for the presidency.

What Is Cost To Save The Planet?

Those in favor of protecting against global warming contend the global warming skeptics stand to lose tons of money if requirements to halt gas emissions are mandated and would rather see future generations fight an environmental problem that may be unbeatable in just a few short years. The price of production of electricity and many other manufacturing processes would be increased to the point few could afford it, according to global warming skeptics and the increases would close many businesses, resulting in massive job losses and economic disaster.

While environmentalists say it is the price that must be paid to save the planet global warming skeptics say the price tag may ruin the Earth in other ways, making the effort of saving it meaningless if no one is around to appreciate the efforts.

While protectors of the environment continue to use data that some consider flawed, it may detract from their credibility as to the motive for their efforts. On the other hand, global warming skeptics seem to be mostly from the manufacturing sector, which could lose the most if more stringent controls are put in place, also raising questions of their motive.
