˙ūThe Long History of Global Warming

from: Ancient Hippy

Understanding the history of global warming is incredibly important to the matter in general overall, and even though we all hear about global warming every day it seems like, most of us still do not know the actual history of global warming, and only by learning about this can a real and informed opinion actually be made on the topic of global warming.

Understanding About the History of Global Warming

The idea of global warming has in fact been around a lot longer than most people presume, and according to the instrumental temperature record, global temperatures on both land and sea have increased by 0.75C relative to the period 1860-1900. This measured temperature increase, it should be known, is not significantly affected by the urban heat island, and since 1979, land temperatures in particular have increased about twice as fast as ocean temperatures have.

It is important to realize that Earth has experienced both warming and cooling situations many times in the past, and for instance, a rapid buildup of greenhouse gases caused warming in the early Jurassic period, which took place about 180 million years ago, with average temperatures rising by 5C.

Climate Models

As well when we look into the history of global warming, we can see how scientists have worked by studying global warming with computer models of the climate, and these models are basically based on physical principles of fluid dynamics, as well as radiative transfer, and other processes, with some certain simplification which is considered as being necessary because of particular limitations in computer power.

The Present Day

In the world of today, global warming is an issue which is more popular than ever, even compared to all the history of global warming put together. This is because it is thought that global warming is approaching faster than ever and that this global warming is going to wreak significant damage to the world as a whole, basically taking away all life forms.

Global warming is definitely one of the most important issues of discussion today, and it that is why it is really important to understand the full history of the subject, as only by doing this is one able to get a real grasp on the topic overall as well as be able to make a uniformed and knowledgeable viewpoint on it. There are various different arguments that have been taken on the subject of global warming, but the proof is undeniable global warming is coming, and fast.
