˙ţSolutions For Global Warming Meeting The Challenge

from: Ancient Hippy

Scientists everywhere seem to agree; if we don t do something to stop or slow the progress of global warming, we are going to be in serious trouble. Solutions for global warming include finding a way to decrease emissions and gases that are seriously affecting our planet. We have the technology available today but it seems that too few people are taking global warming seriously.

The end result of solutions for global warming will benefit everybody. With technology and research we will be able to decrease our dependence on oil which is found in other countries. This alone could enhance our current economy. Finding alternative sources for energy will help protect us against financial ruin as well as increase our independence by decreasing the amount of foreign oil we buy.

Now is the time we need to exercise solutions for global warming. The temperature of our planet is steadily rising and we are to blame. Our dependence on oil, coal, and natural gas is sending an unprecedented amount of C02 emissions into the atmosphere. These emissions are causing harm to the ozone layer which protects us from the heat of the sun. Without rapid intervention we will be facing a serious problem that could be deadly for human life as well as plant life.

Time To Use Common Sense

Our common sense should tell us that this problem is not going away; it has to be dealt with now. Warmer atmosphere temperatures mean more heat waves. People who are sick, weak, or elderly will be at particular risk for heat stroke or even death. Droughts and wild fires will increase and destroy anything that gets in their path. If we don t start using some sensible solutions for global warming, our children could very well expect a shortened lifespan.

One sensible solution is to purchase automobiles with greater fuel efficiency. This one practical solution serves to benefit us in two ways, less C02 is released into the atmosphere, and less money is spent at the gas station. Currently in the United States almost half of the C02 emissions come from our automobiles and other modes of transportation.

It is also time to step up and tell your government leaders to come up with some practical solutions for global warming. Tax incentives might persuade people to look at automobiles that are more fuel efficient. Businesses that practice fuel economy should also get a break. There are many automobile manufacturers who are now producing hybrid cars that combine gas and electricity for power. This technology still has a long way to go but it is time for people to start embracing the solutions for change.
