ÿþThe Various Different Arguments Against Global Warming

from: Ancient Hippy

There are a number of different major arguments against global warming which are circulating in the world today, some of which you most likely have heard of and some which perhaps you have not. Either way, it is incredibly important to recognize and understand about the different arguments against global warming, not only to understand the basic stance that is being taken on it but also to understand better about global warming in general.

Key Arguments Against Global Warming

Since the subject of global warming appeared during the last decade in particular as a serious environmental issue, it has since been the subject of great debate and controversy, and global warning is literally defined as being the warming of the Earth by greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere naturally or by mankind. Although there has been much research completed on global warming, there are still many questions that surround it, from its causes to its full effects.

One of the key arguments against global warming that has been made is the possibility that it does not even exist at all, and then these people wonder if it does exist, why it exists. But there is one fact in particular that no one has questioned, and that is that the surface temperature of the Earth has increased from 0.45 to 0.6 degrees Celsius in the past century alone.

The opposite arguments against global warming then of course, come from the believers of global warming, and their fear is that the Earth s temperature will continue to rise and an increase in the planet s temperature may eventually cause the ice caps to melt and the sea levels to rise. The world s coastlines will be washed away, and there will also be widespread outbreaks of disease for both humans and wildlife. The idea alone that serious disasters like these could actually happen from global warming is great reason for alarm.

Personal Arguments Against Global Warming

There are also many more personal arguments that have been taken against global warming, for instance with Al Gore, who is one of the most well known and outspoken in terms of this subject matter, and who has even come out with movies and books surrounding the issue. Whether you agree with Gore or take the opposite site of the spectrum in this case, it is important to take all views into consideration, because then and only then will you really be able to have an informed and knowledgeable opinion.
