How to be green
Kermit of “Muppet Show” fame had no idea of the later relevancy of his, “It’s not easy being green”, expression.
In these times there’s a swing to green that’s grabbing some light hearted fun from Kermit’s catch phrase.
Whilst a few may argue about the raison d’etre for “being green”, in it’s simplest form it’s simply good business if you can create greater value using less resources. And with respect to reducing our reliance on petroleum based energy sources, it’s just a question of averting risks. This applies equally for all households.
The enterprise of building a green business is one of the most demanding to be presented to the businessman of today. For now, it’s essential to keep a foot in both camps - conventional and green. If you can be green and well priced then you will gain the sale.
There are businesses out there where the various elements are being brought together to manufacture enviro-friendly safety signs at excellent prices. Being “green” does incur some extra costs but those costs can easily be absorbed with a lean manufacturing processes.
Another examplaire can be found with fridge magnets. They are specially printed and used for promoting your businesses, message, logo, offer or latest idea; they last almost forever. This is facilitated by, using up to date digital technology and utilizing solar electricity generated on site. And other steps are being completed using simple, old fashioned muscles power.
It’s the ultimate objective – being green and doing it at a price point that is competitive. There are some out there who are doing this and there will be more and more as the sensibility sinks in of adapting manufacturing processes so they are of lower energy intensity – “greener”.
