Rittner received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a senior fellow of the American Physical Society and a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He received a Founders Award from the IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference for his contributions to the theory and practice of solar cell conversion.
Rittner worked in the fields of photo conductivity, solar cell conversion, thermionics, physics and chemistry for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Philips Labs and Comsat Laboratories for more than 40 years. He is available to speak with the media on the control of global warming.
